Sonya Deol, MSW, RSW
I remember being in a place not too long ago where life felt so overwhelming and exhausting. Reaching out for support made me feel vulnerable, but a part of me knew it was necessary. Therapy helped me feel less alone in my pain and taught me to be kind to myself. I learned that the anxiety and depression I live with is a response to childhood trauma and that there is so much more to me as a person.
My journey of healing continues as I make an ongoing effort to be more mindful and prioritize the values that matter most to me.
As a therapist, I'm driven to encourage others to seek the benefits of therapy. My approach is rooted in care and understanding, aiming to help you become aware of your pain and transform your relationship to it. No longer trapped, you'll discover the power to live a meaningful life.
I believe in your inner strength to find answers. Life's challenges can disconnect us from that part of ourselves, but with openness and curiosity, we can explore our experiences from new perspectives. Together, we'll uncover your truest, most authentic self, and I'll be sure to guide you every step of the way.
Throughout my social work career, I have supported individuals facing anxiety/depression, stress, relationship issues, grief/loss, violence, crisis intervention, and trauma. My passion lies in understanding how painful experiences affect mental health and the importance of the healing process.
